The Carpenter Government is closing Royal Perth Hospital – our State’s largest hospital.

It will be the first major city hospital to shut down in Australia, closing the doors on 153 years of commitment to excellence in patient care, teaching and research.

Before the 2001 State election, the Labor Party promised it would “fix the health system” in Western Australia.

Seven years on, and with a part-time Health Minister at the helm, our health system is in crisis.

You can’t fix the health system by closing the State’s largest hospital.

Under Labor’s plan, RPH will be closed within five years.
